A modern person, even in everyday life, can encounter more than 300 diseases caused by worms, and the total proportion of parasitic infections worldwide exceeds 75%.Even by observing the rules of household hygiene and avoiding obvious dangers - raw meat and eggs, water from untested sources - we can become infected with helminths.Once in the body, they rapidly multiply, releasing toxic waste products, affecting the intestines, and often the liver, muscles, lungs, and other organs.
Helminths are dangerous because they “undermine” the functioning of the immune and other systems, absorb micro- and macroelements vital for humans and inhibit the intestinal flora.The body becomes very vulnerable to infections, inflammation, and chronic diseases worsen.Therefore, you need to fight helminthic infestation as soon as you suspect it.
There can be different forms of helminths in the human body, and their signs (symptoms) also differ.Most often the body is affected by:
- nematodes related to roundworms are pinworms, roundworms, trichinella, whipworms, etc. that cause enterobiasis;
- flat (tape) cestode worms - echinococcus, all kinds of tapeworms;
- trematodes are very dangerous flukes, whose waste products are poisonous (like those of nematodes), and they themselves cause schistomiasis, opisthorchiasis and other severe diseases that chemical medications cannot always cope with.
The first two groups of worms cause predominantly intestinal diseases, the third can provoke extraintestinal ones.For example, opisthorchiasis is caused by trematodes living in the bile ducts.Therefore, diseases provoked by helminths manifest themselves with extremely wide symptoms.
The main symptoms of helminthic infestation
Penetrating into the body, helminths multiply, and their different forms are simultaneously present in the body - cysts, larvae, adults.Pharmacy medications act on them selectively and do not provide a comprehensive effect.Therefore, the earlier treatment begins, the less danger of damage to the body.
The first sign of large-scale invasion is vomiting, profuse salivation, and attacks of pain localized in the abdominal cavity.They are characteristic of infection with roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, diphyllobothriasis, trichocephalosis, strongyloidiasis.Also, helminths cause attacks of nausea in the morning, an uncontrollable feeling of hunger or, conversely, a deterioration in appetite, and unmotivated cravings for sweets.
Manifestations are most often accompanied by abnormal stool (constipation alternating with diarrhea), bloating, and flatulence.When infected with Giardia, severe diarrhea occurs.At least a few of these symptoms are a reason to immediately consult a doctor, as they may be signs of intestinal obstruction.
Another manifestation characteristic of infection with almost all types of worms is skin rashes similar to hives.Their occurrence is associated with a reaction to the toxic waste products of worms.Based on the location of the rash, doctors make a diagnosis - infestation by hookworms, schistosomes or other helminths.Subcutaneous lumps indicate infection with pork tapeworm and roundworms.
Other signs of helminth damage to the body:
- roundworms, in addition to the above symptoms, can be suspected by a paroxysmal dry cough (as with bronchitis), blurred vision, enlarged lymph nodes;
- pinworms cause itching in the anus and external genitalia, worsening at night;
- signs of infection with schistosomes, lamblia, trematodes - weakness, chills, fever, blood in the urine, pain in the liver;
- the disease with toxoplasmosis, pulmonary toxocariasis is indicated by impaired vision and speech;
- hookworms provoke coughing, trichinella and echinococcus cause severe muscle pain, pork tapeworm causes incoordination, epileptic seizures, etc.
With large-scale or “advanced” infection, hair begins to fall out, nails become brittle and layered.Children, due to a lack of microelements (they are absorbed by helminths) and poisoning with toxic products, experience nervousness, causeless tearfulness, hyperactivity, and inability to concentrate.
Damage to the body by worms is indicated by frequent colds, anemia, exacerbation of chronic diseases, prolonged headaches, a feeling of persistent fatigue, and irritability.These symptoms are associated with the suppression of the immune protective function by worms and, like others, require a comprehensive diagnosis.
Diagnosis of helminthiases
Doctors use several methods to identify helminthic infestations.The main one is bacterioscopy, stool analysis by scraping at the entrance to the anus.This is a simple and quick method, but it only detects helminths that have laid eggs near the anus.Males, for example, will not be revealed by scraping, but in general, this is a fairly informative way to detect enterobiasis.
Stool microscopy is more effective: it detects Giardia cysts and eggs of other helminths (but not pinworms).To increase the accuracy of diagnosis, stool analysis performed three times, with an interval of one to three days, or an enrichment technique, which is used by a number of laboratories, helps.However, for common roundworms even such an analysis is ineffective.They settle primarily in the small intestine and are rarely found in feces.
Enzyme immunoassay of venous blood allows you to identify helminths by antibodies, with the help of which the body reacts to parasites.For each form of worms, a separate study must be carried out.The presence of active helminths is indicated by a level of eosinophils three to four times higher than normal, and contact with them is indicated by a twofold excess of the permissible threshold.Such tests detect extraintestinal helminthiasis, but the doctor must have good reason to prescribe them.
Modern diagnostic methods are computer and bioresonance.It allows you to identify about 20 types of worms.Voll diagnostics and other methods are also used.However, we cannot talk about their 100% effectiveness.Therefore, the best solution is to concentrate on treatment and especially prevention of helminthiasis.
Antiparasitic complexes for the prevention and treatment of helminthiasis
It is impossible to protect yourself 100% from worms, and tests do not give a complete picture of what is happening.Therefore, in order not to encounter dangerous manifestations of infection and diseases that are caused by helminths, it is necessary to undergo a course of therapy aimed at removing their forms from the body, compensating for the harm they cause and restoring health.A variety of drugs and complexes against parasites have been developed, whose action is to eliminate, returning body functions to normal levels without the drug shock inherent in chemical drugs.
Products rich in natural bitters, antiseptics, micro- and macroelements have a cumulative effect without causing side effects.Taking medications provides:
- cleansing from more than 150 types of helminths;
- restoration of immunity, normal intestinal microflora - worms will no longer be able to reproduce in it;
- replenishing the supply of microelements - their deficiency provokes a huge number of diseases, including malignant tumors and cirrhosis;
- restoration of normal functioning of all organs - manifestations of allergies, mycoses, candidiasis are reduced, well-being and the body’s resistance to negative environmental factors are improved.
For prevention, therapy must be carried out twice a year, taking all drugs of the complex twice a day, one capsule.The standard duration of a course of anti-helminth medications is at least a month.But the final schedule for taking medications should only be prescribed by a specialist.
